Heavy Haul Set

The All World Models 1/87th or HO scale mixed media heavy haul miniature of a Contractors Cargo Co. (CCC) 19axle dual lane transporter with Vacuum Tower load is now available. The model includes an all brass jeep, beam trailer and 2 Kenworth T800 tractors (1 pull tractor, 1 push tractor). The model will come complete with a vacuum tower load reproduced in resin with a wood and Plexiglas display case. This model will stretch out to just over 26" long! Here are some photos of the new 1/87th / HO scale Norscot D9T that I customized for my personal collection. The conversion features metal tracks, see through side panels, see through front grill, engine details, hydraulic line details, wire hand grabs, lift rings, windshield wiper blades and new window material just to name a few. The Norscot is a great model as is, but it is also a great starting point for a super detailing project. I think it looks right at home next to the brass D11R from CCM.

Classic Construction Models Announces a 1/87th / HO scale model of the largest Walking Dragline Ever Built. From 1969 to 1991 the Big Muskie worked at the Central Ohio Coal Company mine in Cumberland, Ohio. The bucket was an astounding 220 cubic yards and is the only part of this massive machine that still exists today. At over 400 feet long this will be a truly massive model even in 1/87 scale. From the back of the house to the tip of the boom will be almost 5 feet long!! This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and will be an extremely limited production run. The model will be an all brass model made to museum quality which is what you have come to expect from Classic Construction Models. Caterpillar 325L Replacement Undercarriage

When Classic Construction Models (CCM) produced the now famous 12pc. set of Classic Caterpillar all brass models in 1/87th scale the first model released was the 325L Excavator. The main drawback to this model was the fixed track undercarriage. This unique item made by CCM exclusively for Zycon Models will instantly upgrade your model. You will not have to alter your existing model as this is a bolt on replacement. Simply unscrew the existing phillips head bolt and reattach this new undercariage. Undercarriage features ultra thin individual 33" inch track shoes with a highly detailed undercarriage and sprung tensioner. By reversing the assembly procedure you can return the model to it's original configuration at any time. The undercarriage also has potential for other uses for any 1/87 25ton class excavator. Only 100 units were produced since around 1,000 units were made of the original 325L this item should sell out soon. So Order yours today!

At MinExpo in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1974 Terex (owned by General Motors at that time) unveiled the largest mine truck on earth, a 350 Ton three axle monster truck. This massive three axle dump truck measured 25ft. 6in. wide and 66 ft. long. It took almost 20 years for a mine truck to be introduced that exceeded the Titan's capacity. Available now from EMD Models are two versions of the famous Terex Titan. The original Terex factory version in green and the Westar Mining version. These are highly detailed models in 1/87 scale brass designed from the ground up from original Terex and Westar documentation. Features posable steering, detailed cab interior, working dump bed and incredible attention to detail. The Westar version has a higher retail price than the Green version because of a visible power plant. The Titan was powered by a 16V-645E4 3,300HP ElectroMotive Diesel locomotive prime mover. OHS Models Terex MT4400 Mining Dump Truck "On Location"

The photos at the top of this page and above were taken by me using an OHS MT4400 brass model. They were shot during my trip to ConExpo in Spring 2002. The diorama was built on-site in an undeveloped housing district in Las Vegas during a lunch break. A hose was buried underground to carry a shot from an air blaster which was used to create the action part of the photos. The road was graded using a trowel and the photo was coordinated with the help of Bob Johnson (air operator) and Wayne Calder (road builder). Finally the P&H shovel was borrowed for the photo shoot from our Las Vegas host Mark Wayman.
